It all started in August 2021 Jena was walking into church one morning and noticed some very stylish pants a woman was wearing. Once the woman made it to the front door she stopped and told the greeter “I’m new here” and immediately like an out-of-body experience Jena turned around and blurted out “Oh you are new here… come with me.” Jena took the woman to the welcome desk and explained where in the sanctuary she would be seated and asked her to join when she finished at the desk. As Jena walked away she thought to herself she will not come and find me even though I pray she really does. To Jena’s surprise, the woman came and sat with her. This is when we learned the woman's name was Fran. 

Fran had been seeking direction from the Lord for His next steps in her life after her husband passed away. This particular Sunday she felt the need to seek out a new church to hear His voice more clearly. It was difficult to think about starting over in a new fellowship where she did not know anyone, but God gave her the courage to give it a try. As Fran approached the doors of the church a greeter held the door open to welcome her. Upon saying, “I’m new here”  a young woman (Jena) immediately turned around and said, “Oh, you are new here…come with me I’ll show you where to get information” and invited Fran to sit with her. She was so bubbly and welcoming that it surprised Fran. It made her feel just as if she had been attending and participating in this church for a long time.  She did not realize just how big the sanctuary was but remembered Jena telling her she would be up front and to look for her. Again, Jena was standing and Fran could see she was intentionally looking for her. With a quick wave from Jena, Fran knew just where to go, walking forward with confidence. God affirmed He was with her by bringing a new friend into her life. 

Fran and Jena hit it off and found that each other were attending the same bible study group a few weeks later. Each week at the bible study they would look for one another and chat and catch up but there was always something more that was pulling them together that they just couldn't quite figure out. 

On March 20, 2022, a guest speaker came to the church Fran and Jena attended. This speaker’s message really touched Fran and Jena and left them both thirsty for more. The speaker held a virtual conference in April of 2022 and after attending the conference Fran and Jena started to build what is called Spark Light Ministry. 

        We believe that everyone was born with a burning desire (that inner fire) to have a loving and strong relationship with the Lord. II Timothy 1:6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the gracious gift of God, That inner fire – the special endowment which is in you...As we all know, most of us experience a traumatic event in our lives that diminishes our fire to embers or sometimes even to ashes. We want to inspire and nurture the embers of a diminished fire -- EMPOWERING individuals to IGNITE and ACTIVATE their passion to carry out their God-given life assignment. Once an individual has built their fire we hope they SPARK someone else's fire to shine the LIGHT of the kingdom of God for all to see and become the ripple effect.
